Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has signed Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with nine power sector players for supply of 11 million standard cubic metres (mmscmd) natural gas from the KG-D6 block. The duration of contract is five years, said a company release.

The nine power plants are Gautami Power, Gujarat Paguthan Energy Corporation, GVK Industries Limited (Phase I and II), Konaseema Gas Power, Lanco Kondapalli Power, Maharashtra State Power Generation Company, Reliance Infrastructure, Torrent Power (Sugen and Vatva) and Vemagiri Power Generation.

“We are happy to have entered into agreements with customers in the power sector, and look forward to entering into agreements with other customers in this sector soon. The expected supply of 18 mmscmd gas to the power sector would largely eliminate the deficit in gas supply being currently faced by these units,” said PMS Prasad, President & CEO, Petroleum, RIL.
