At a time when corporate frauds are rocking the world, finance ministry is reviewing the role of nominee directors of banks and financial institutions. The government is also planning to ask banks and institution to measure the performance of their nominees on the board of various companies assisted by them.
Institutional sources told Business Standard that it has been decided that the government with banks and institutions would devise ways to make the role the nominees would be made more effective and will also make them accountable.
