Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today briefed new Governor E S L Narasimhan about the prevailing political situation in the state.
He also apprised the governor about the law and order situation in the wake of the ongoing agitation for a separate Telangana state, official sources said.
The chief minister met the governor along with Home Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy, Director General of Police R R Girish Kumar and other higher officials at the Raj Bhavan this afternoon.
Earlier in the day, Narasimhan -– a former IPS officer of AP cadre, took charge as governor of the state.
Narasimhan is currently governor of Chhattisgarh and will hold charge here till further arrangements are made in the aftermath of the resignation of Narayan Datt Tiwari.
Rosaiah also apprised Narasimhan about the political crisis triggered by the resignation of 13 ministers and over 80 MLAs of different parties hailing from the region, an official of the Chief Minister's Office said.
