The Maharashtra government has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 37.38 crore for development and promotion of eco-tourism projects in backward Vidarbha region. According to Maharashtra Public Works and Tourism Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, the agreement with the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and Forest Development Corporation was signed in October last year under the Centre's 'Mega Circuit' programme.
Speaking to reporters yesterday, the minister said that Central government has already released half of the proposed amount for the projects.
