Rural libraries come under central library

 According to minister of state for sports youth and cultural activities Bavkubhai Undhad, there were more than 5,000 rural libraries in villages and the library department was disbursing grant-in-aid to these libraries.

 Undhad said here on Wednesday that rural libraries of 14 districts including Saurashtra, north Gujarat and central Gujarat had been entrusted to Gandhinagar and of remaining 11 districts to Vadodara.

 With this arrangement, district and rural libraries would receive administrative and technical guidance from district headquarters and services of libraries would become effective and qualitative.
