Sabrang Music Trust will look at expanding the Sabrang Sangeet Sammelan outside West Bengal and establish its footfall in Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi. Sabrang Music Trust, which organises the Sabrang Sangeet Sammelan, has raised a sum of Rs 2,25,000 this year, as against an amount of Rs 2,05,000 last year, which was handed over to a non government organisation(NGO), Matrisangha Janakalyan Ashram, for providing medical and treatment assistance to musicians fraternity. On the sidelines of an interactive session, Jayati Bagchi, managing trustee of Sabrang music trust said, "We wil try organising Sangeet sammelan outside Kolkata in places like Madras, Bombay and Delhi. We have also raised a sum of Rs 2,50,000 this year to assist the musicians and the entire amount has been given to matrisangha ashram."
Sanjay Buddhia,managing director of Patton International Limited and the chief patron of the Sabrang music trust said, "Even though the economy is going through difficult times, we have been successful in organising this event and this is its ninth year.We will continue with our efforts."
