After several attempts, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) is close to selling the Rourkela fertiliser plant. Government officials told Business Standard that Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd had recently placed fresh bids to acquire a controlling stake in the plant. The fertiliser plant is a part of the Rourkela steel plant, a unit of SAIL.
Government sources said the bid price was close to the reserve price, which was estimated at around Rs 50 crore.
