The special court trying the Satyam case on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of the ten accused in the financial scam till April 12. Their custody ended today.
The court directed the Cental Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to provide a list of documents that it seized from the headquarters of Satyam Computer Services Limited. The court was hearing a petition filed by the company seeking return of the documents for restatement of financial accounts in June.
It also heard the earlier CBI plea seeking restriction on visitors meeting Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju, who is being treated at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims). The court reserved the orders till April 12 and directed Raju to file a counter by then.
The CBI last week argued that Raju was having many visitors and it indicated he was fit. It said it violated the court’s permission allowing only Raju's wife and sons to meet him at the hospital.
The court also permitted the Enforcement Directorate, a central government wing, to question and record the statements of three employees - Prabhakar Gupta, Ramakrishna and Venkatapathi Raju - against allegations of money laundering. The three are in judicial custody now.
