SC asks Prasar Bharati not to move against Ten Sports

Supreme Court today restrained Prasar Bharti from interfering with the telecast of the tri-series cricket in Sri Lanka involving India, the US Open Grand Slam tennis, the World Cup hockey for men and women, and the Champions Trophy hockey - the exclusive telecast rights of which is with Dubai-based Ten Sports.

 A bench, comprising Justice Ashok Bhan and Justice Markandey Katju, also directed Prasar Bharti not to take any coercive steps against the private television channel to bag the telecast rights of these events.
