The second phase of Census will start from March nine all over the country, Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India (RGCCI) Dr C Chandramouli said today.
About 30,000 employees of Jammu and Kashmir are being trained to conduct the second phase of the Census in the state, he said.
The Census Commissioner said that during the second phase national population registration would be completed following which every citizen of India would be provided with a smart card possessing all vital details.
He said the process for biometric information collection and photographs of the citizens would start from April.
The first phase of the 15th National Census began with the house listing and housing census from May 1, 2010, and ended on June 15, 2010.
