Select Technologies, subsidiary of WeP Peripherals, is looking forward to aggressive growth. |
Expanding its manufacturing capabilities, the company today rolled out its first batch of printers from its new plant at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. |
Spread over 11 acres, the manufacturing plant at Himachal Pradesh will look after the domestic market, largely the northern market. |
Speaking to Business Standard, Nagarjuna, general manager, operations & exports, said the company was targeting manufacturing 100,000 dot matrix printers this year from both the Baddi and its second unit in Himachal Pradesh at Nalagarh. |
Currently the company has plants at Mysore, Hyderabad and Nalagarh and manufactured 150,000 dot matrix printers in the last financial year. "From the four units we target 200,000 dot matrix printers this year," said Nagarjuna. |
Commenting on the second facility in Himachal Pradesh, he said that with the rolling out of its product in the Jaharmajri plant WeP Peripherals was looking at a 100 per cent year on year growth from the Himachal units. |
"Though we had apprehension on technical manpower availability in Himachal, our experience has been good. We were able to tie up with technical institutions for campus recruitments and extensively train them to our quality standards and system requirements," he said. |
