Confederation of Indian Industry President R Seshasayee will lead a 15-member CEO mission to Japan to participate in the two-day World Economic Forum's East Asia Summit being held in Tokyo from June 14-16. |
The Indian delegation will be headed by Commerce Minister Kamal Nath. |
Seshasayee said the main aim of the mission would be to appraise the country's Japanese counterparts about the India growth story and identify means to enhance bilateral trade across sectors to realise Indo-Japanese bilateral trade potential. |
On the eve of the World Economic Forum (WEF) event, the ministry of economy, trade and industry (METI) of Japan and India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry are co-sponsoring an India-Japan business summit at the same location. |
It will focus on key opportunities in India, in manufacturing, infrastructure, biotechnology, and research and development. |
The Indian delegation will give a fresh thrust to the India Everywhere campaign at the summit where over 250 global leaders from business, government and academia will congregate to shape Asia's political, industry and economic agendas. |
The theme this year is "Creating a New Agenda for Asian Integration" and a key topic for discussion would be integrating India further into East Asia. |
