Session Court pronounces death sentence

The Ahmedabad session court today pronounced a death sentence in a three-year old-double murder case.

Justice D T Soni pronounced death sentence for Satish Patel under Section 366 subject to the Gujarat High Court's jurisdiction. Patel, 29, was found guilty of atrocious murder of Mittal Khatri and Pintu Solanki on July 19, 2002.

Khatri and Solanki, were working at the Raj Pathology Laboratory in Maninagar where Patel was employed as a peon. The incident took occurred over a fight, while having dinner for watching a porn film.

An agitated Patel hit his colleagues on their head with a hammer. Patel went absconding after the incident. Later, it was learnt that Patel had left Ahmedabad to Vadodara on his bike.

Patel had tried to remove the possible evidences by discarding his blood stained clothes in the water, which the fire brigade recovered later. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) had verified the blood spots on the clothes to be Patel's colleagues.
