State sports minister Madan Mitra said that nearly 700 clubs had been Rs two lakh each so far.
Replying to a query in the assembly here on Tuesday, Mitra said that clubs from North 24-Parganas district had applied most for the assistance while the least was from Murshidabad.
He said that if the clubs which had already got the money furnished utilisation certificates, then they would be given assistance again, may be more.
