Seven MNS workers were arrested while protesting outside the office of Colors TV channel here over the inclusion of two Pakistani artistes in the private network’s reality show Bigg Boss 4.
The workers, who were demonstrating outside the channel’s office on Parsi Panchayat Marg last night, were charged with unlawful assembly, Senior Inspector at Andheri police station, S G Deshmukh, said today.
They raised slogans against inclusion of two Pakistani artistes in the reality show which is currently being aired on Colors, he said.
Shiv Sena and Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) are opposing the participation of Veena Malik and Begum Nawazish Ali in the fourth edition of the reality show that started on October 3.
Malik, is the ex-girlfriend of controversial Pakistan cricketer Mohammed Asif, while Ali is a popular TV show host in that country.
Police yesterday rounded up about 25 Shiv Sena activists for staging a protest in front of a bungalow at Lonavla, a hill station near Pune, where the shooting of the show is in progress.
The popular reality show, hosted by Bollywood star Salman Khan, has 14 contestants.
