Ajay S Shriram, chairman and senior managing director of DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd (DSCL) has taken over as president of International Fertilizer Association (IFA).
He is the second Indian to hold this position.
His tenure as a president would end after two years.
IFA is a non-profit organisation representing global fertiliser industries. It has some 525 members in about 82 countries, of which half of memberships is based in developing countries.
IFA member companies represent any and every activity related to fertiliser production, trade and transport across the world. DSCL is a diversified company with presence in sugar, rural retail, fertilisers, chemicals, etc
