To develop two logistics hubs in Pantnagar and Haridwar with an investment of Rs 300 crore.
State Infrastructure & Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Ltd (Sidcul) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Container Corporation of India Ltd (Concor) to develop two logistics hubs with an estimated investment of Rs 300 crore. The Sidcul board has already approved plans to invite Concor for developing the two hubs in Pantnagar and Haridwar.
The hubs will have facilities like warehouse, truck parking, dormitories, 24-hour canteen/ restaurant, fuel station, service centres and office complexes.
Top Sidcul officials said the hubs would connect the state industry with the east corridor of Indian Railways.
With the development of key industrial estates of Haridwar and Pantnagar, the nodal agency for industrial development in the state had chalked out plans to provide logistic support and comforts to the state industry through these proposed hubs.

After the cancellation of the bidding process in 2010, Sidcul invited fresh bids last year.
Three companies, including Concor, submitted bids.
In 2009, 10 technical bids were received by Sidcul.
Last year, the board, comprising top government officials, expressed reservations over certain clauses, due to which the bidding process did not make any headway.
Some of these companies wanted to make upfront charges in a staggered manner by adopting the annuity model. This was not accepted by the board.
Sidcul has mandated IL&FS Ltd to undertake a comprehensive process management, leading to the appointment of developers, who will implement the projects on the public-private partnership model.
