Marketmen said silver prices fell further on stockists selling sparked by a weakening global trend. The metal in last two trading sessions lost Rs 480 per kg as stockists remained net sellers.

Gold and sovereign continued to be asked at previous levels on restricted buying due to off marriage season.

Marketmen said the stockists were offloading part of their holdings in view of a fall in its prices in global markets.

Standard gold and ornaments were asked at previous levels of Rs 12,060 and Rs 11,910 per 10 gram respectively. Sovereign was unchanged at Rs 9875 per piece of 8 gram.

Silver ready fell by Rs 160 to Rs 23,220 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 155 at Rs 22,975 per kg. Silver coins continued to be asked at previous levels of Rs 26,700 for buying and Rs 26,800 for selling of 100 pieces.
