Despite the transmission-related problems on APTransco network and its subsequent impact in the form of frequent tripping, the 1000-MW Simhadri Thermal Power Project (STPP) has set up a target of 7,500 million units (MU)per day at a plant load factor (PLF) of 90 per cent. In the last year, STPP recorded a PLF of 85 pc by generating 5,000 MU per day.

The total generation capacity of STPP(500x2) is 24 MU per day. Of the two units, the second unit started generation in the latter part of last year. The entire power generated at STPP is being supplied to APTransco at a charge of Rs 1.60 per unit.
