In a pre-Exim Policy sales pitch to foreign investors, commerce and industry minister Murasoli Maran today outlined a range of sops the government proposes to announce for special economic zones (SEZs).
The list includes a single policy framework to fill the lacunae in the existing scheme, drawback and duty entitlement passbook (DEPB) scheme benefits to supplies from the domestic tariff area (DTA) to SEZs and also exemption of sales made from DTA to SEZs from the central sales tax.
