Single Window clears five projects worth Rs 1340 crore

The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) today cleared five projects worth Rs 1340 crore.

"The Single Window Clearance Authority has cleared five projects while five other proposals have been referred to the High Level Clearance Authority”, T Ramachandru, principal secretary (industries), Orissa government told media persons after the high level meeting. The meeting was chaired by the state Chief Secretary B K Pattnaik.

Britannia Industries Ltd has got the nod to set up a biscuit manufacturing unit at Khurda on 12 acres of land at a cost ofRs 51 crore. This project will generate 500 direct jobs besides creating indirect employment opportunities for 200 others.

 

Similarly, Everest Industries Ltd has got the approval for setting up a unit for manufacturing asbestos cement corrugated sheets and cement flat sheets at Somanthpur Industrial Estate in Balasore district at an investment of Rs 69 crore. This plant will offer direct jobs to 309 people.

Chariot Steel & Power Ltd which operates a cement plant at the Kalinga Industrial Estate in Sundergarh district has proposed to scale up its capacity from 0.2 million tonne per annum (mtpa) to 1.4 mtpa at a cost of Rs 320 crore.

Konark Kranti Cement Ltd has got the approval to set up a petroleum complex at Paradeep and petroleum tanker storage unit at Dhamara at a combined investment of Rs 300 crore.

The combined land requirement of these two projects has been assessed at 60-70 acres. The employment potential has been estimated at around 100.

The SLSWCA cleared one project in the energy sector- that of Nav Bharat Ventures Ltd to set up a 128 (2x64) MW power plant at Khadagprasad in Dhenkanal district, involving an investment ofRs 600 crore.
