Sirsa leads in wheat arrival in Haryana

District Sirsa is leading in wheat arrival in Haryana where over 8.21 lakh tonne of wheat has arrived in the mandis so far, followed by district Fatehabad, where over 6.10 lakh tonne of wheat has arrived in the mandis.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food and Supplies Department said that over 1.24 lakh tonne of wheat arrived in the various mandis of the state yesterday, thus raising the total arrival to over 60.68 lakh tonne.

He said district Jind ranked third in wheat arrival where over 5.90 lakh tonne of wheat had arrived in the mandis, whereas in district Karnal, over 5.84 lakh tonne of wheat arrived in the mandis and in district Kaithal over 5.72 lakh tonne, in Kurukshetra over 4.26 lakh tonne.  

 

In Palwal over 3.89 lakh tonne of wheat arrived, in Hisar over 3.82 lakh tonne, in Sonipat over 3.48 lakh tonne, in Panipat over 2.44 lakh tonne, in Rohtak over 1.72 lakh tonne, in Bhiwani over 1.74 lakh tonne, in Ambala over 1.64 lakh tonne and in Faridabad over 1.12 lakh tonne of wheat arrived in the mandis.

The spokesman said out of the total arrival of wheat, over 60.65 lakh tonne of wheat had been purchased by the government procuring agencies and the rest 2,964 tonne by the traders.  

Giving details of the wheat procured by the government agencies, he said that over 21.08 lakh tonne of wheat had been purchased by HAFED, over 15.89 lakh tonne by Food and Supplies Department, over 7.78 lakh tonne by Food Corporation of India, over 6.06 lakh tonne by Agro Industries Corporation, over 5.48 lakh tonne by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and over 4.34 lakh tonne by CONFED.
