Twenty-two per cent of the names on Delhi's voter list might have to be deleted, says a sample survey conducted by Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy. Janaagraha says "there are significant errors in the rolls, which could potentially impact electoral outcomes, if one were to go by the thin margins of victory witnessed in the 2013 Assembly elections and the close contests anticipated this time". The survey highlights the need for more technologically advanced methods to revise electoral rolls, in place of the manual mode adopted by the Election Commission. Janaagraha adds errors have remained on the list despite the poll panel revising the electoral rolls thrice in 18 months. The study was done on the basis of voter rolls published in October 2014, though revisions were published. According to the Election Commission's revisions, though 32.5 per cent of deletions are required in Delhi, only 0.7% have been done. Here is a snapshot of the survey:
