The Ahmedabad-based Softrak Technology Exports Ltd (STEL) today announced that it has bagged contracts for starting computer education for school children in Delhi, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh and Uttranchal.
According to STEL managing director Sunil Gaglani, the company would cover around 1,200 schools in these states, which would call for an envisaged investment of Rs 50 crore over the next one year.
Saying that around 18,000 computers would have to be purchased in the first phase of the programme, he said installing the computers alone would call for an investment of Rs 35 crore.

STEL has already initiated talks with leading computer manufacturers in this connection and is expecting one of the leading brands to provide them on lease basis, Gaglani added.
