Former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya has announced to foot the bill for medical treatment of injured in 26/11 terror attack.

Those who need repetitive surgeries and prolong medical treatment to recover will be given aid through his NGO Yuva Pratishthan.

He further said, “Out of more than 311 injured, many need prolong treatment and repetitive surgeries to live normal life once again, government has announced to pay the medical bill but we all know what is the treatment victims of such attacks or accidents get once the euphoria created by the event dies down. Many times government hospitals are not equipped to deal with complex treatment or surgeries required to cure such patients. So we are going to plug this gap”, he claimed.

Addressing a press conference here today, he demanded, government should appoint one officer where the keens of victims or victims themselves file their compensation claim and they should be processed within three months.

At present they have to file separate papers getting compensation from central government, state government, railways and railways accident claim tribunal, he pointed out.

And for the victims on the attack on CST station, central government should appoint separate bench of the railways claim tribunal to process the claims as they did in the case of 7/11 train bomb blasts, he asked.
