United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi is set to arrive here on February 27 on a two-day visit to participate in a slew of programmes.
As per the itinerary, she will arrive at the Begumpet airport at 11.15 am and meet the public representatives and party workers. She will also present co-contributory pensions to women beneficiaries under the Abhay Hastam scheme in the airport premises, before proceeding to Kandi village in Medak district to lay the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campus, which is currently operating from an ordinance factory near Kandi.
The UPA chairperson will later address a public meeting at Khammam in the afternoon and will reach Hyderabad at around 2 pm, afterwhich she will go to Port Blair by a special aircraft.
Sonia will return to Hyderabad on February 28 from Bidar airport in Karnataka and proceed to Necklace Road in the city to unveil the statue of former prime minister Indira Gandhi.
Later, she will leave to the Parade Grounds by road to address a public meeting at around 5.30 pm and return to Delhi by a special flight at 6.30 in the evening.
