South Africa pull off record win

 Australia rode on an attacking 164 runs, off 105 balls by Ricky Ponting, with Mike Hussey providing more than able support, smashing 81 off just 51 balls.

 South Africa overhauled the target of 434 on the back of Herschelle Gibbs' 175, scored off 111 balls. Mark Boucher saw the team through scoring a responsible 50, appropriately hitting the winning boundary.
