South Asian meet on quality assurance in B-schools

The Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), a SAARC-recognised body with headquarters in Hyderabad, is organising a South Asian seminar on 'Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Business Schools' in the region from November 11 to 14 in the city.

 
The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has forged a partnership with AMDISA to launch a global quality improvement and accreditation system for South Asian business schools.

 
A grant of 3.50 lakh Euros from European Commission's Asia Link Programme will enable AMDISA to customise South Asian accreditation system with the assistance of EFMD, which has successfully awarded accreditation to 64 leading business schools in Europe, US and South East Asia, AMDISA said in a release.

 
The workshop being organised in Hyderabadwill include 20 leading managemet academics from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The will be the prime movers in establishing AMDISA accreditation system.

 
The workshop will spell out the basic parametres of global accreditation system aligned to South Asian reality.

 
AMDISA has identified five business schools in South Asia to receive the expertise of EFMD in preparing for accreditation under the European Commission's grant.

 
These include Indian Institute of Management. Lucknow, Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore, North South University, Dhaka, Post-graduate Institute of Management - University of Jayawardenpura, Colombo, and the Management Development Instituter, Gurgoan.
