Party General Secretary Amar Singh said he would be meeting the Congress Chief to apprise her of the decisions taken during the party meeting.

Explaining the nature of support that the SP would be providing to the government, Singh said it would issue-based support from outside.

Singh also clarified that he did not demand removal of the Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora but admitted he does not agree with Deora's remarks on windfall profit. "I have not asked for Deora's head but I criticised Deora's remark regarding windfall profit. We are are serious about the economic issues that we have raised," said Singh.

While vouching SP's support for the nuclear deal, Singh however strongly criticised the move to link the deal with Muslim sentiments. "This is very shameful that a few people are trying to project that Muslims are against the deal, which is a farce," Singh said.

We think former President Abdul Kalam is the most knowledgeable expert on the nuclear issue. He has both the practical and intellectual knowledge of the deal, said Singh.
