Special supplementary charge put on hold: Railways

On June 25, as part of its dynamic pricing policy, the Indian Railways had decided to levy special supplementary charge at the rate of 5 per cent on coal and coke products and 7 per cent on commodities like ores, minerals, petroleum products, food grains and fertilisers for the period July 1 to September 30, 2008.
