The twelfth edition of Asia’s premier ICT event, Bangalore IT.Biz 2009 is all set to begin here tomorrow. Union Minister of State for Information Technology and Communications Gurudas Kamat would inaugurate the three-day event, which will be presided over by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.
Azim Premji, chairman, Wipro Ltd, Padmasree Warrior, chief technology officer, Cisco Systems Inc., USA and Mario Castillo, head of Invest Chile — CORFO, Ministry of Economy, Chile will be the other key dignitaries present during the inaugural event. This year the exhibition at the event will witness participation of about 100 participants including IT majors like Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Cisco, IBM, Dell, LG, Nokia Siemens, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Toshiba, BSNL and Airtel as well as start ups and SMEs. Indian states like Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Assam and Temil Nadu will participate in the trade show during the event. For the first time, the event’s Country Partner InvestChile — Chile’s investment promotion board will lead a high profile delegation.
The event is set to attract 800 delegates in nine different tracks, which will be addressed by 90 experts from different industry verticals. Bangalore IT Export awards will be presented for the year 2009. The new highlight of the awards function is that for the first time ISA Technovation Awards will be presented to leading researchers in semiconductor industry and the exhibitor awards will also be given away the same day.
CEO-CIO conclave at BangaloreIT.Biz 2009 will witness industry captains from the ICT industry as well as IT user groups and policy makers come together on a single platform. This year the panel discussion will focus on the topic “Emerging Opportunities for ICT Sector in India and New Global Destinations”.
