The Orissa government has embarked on process re-engineering to accelerate the implementation of projects under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) scheme.
It has revised the processes and procedures of implementation of RIDF projects following the suggestion of the High Power Committee (HPC) chaired by the Development Commissioner, S P Nanda.
These revisions pertained to the procedures for posing projects to the HPC and the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) for approval among others.
According to a circular issued by the state finance department, the administrative departments and project implementing agencies concerned would have to comply with the requirements like completion of preliminary survey and investigation of the project, preparation of the preliminary report with provisional cost estimates, identification of government, private and forest land required for the project.
Further, the identification of utilities for shifting would have to be completed before posing the projects before HPC for approval.
