State gets breather on power subsidy

 The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has permitted the Maharashtra government to provide an estimated Rs 200 crore subsidy, following the waiver on electricity bill payments for agriculturists in drought hit regions of the state, to be provided in the form of a grant or by book adjustment of net dues payable by the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) to the state.
