State may withdraw 'weak' adulteration cases

 Around 8,000 such cases are pending before the metropolitan magistrate court, Mumbai, for the last eight years.

 The state government is planning to withdraw those cases where adulterated products were not found to be harmful for human beings.

 According to a government official, state chief minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Tuesday had convened a meeting to discuss the case against Cadbury India as well as other pending adulteration cases.
