West Bengal food processing and horticulture minister Sailen Sarkar said today the state government would jointly host a national three-day show, beginning June 13, on mango. The Agri-Horticultural Society of India will support the government event.
He said participants of states like Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Orisaa, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have sent their consent about participation in the show. This would be followed by a state-level exhibition in Malda, the largest mango producing district in West Bengal.
Dubbed as the first of its kind show in the eastern India, the exhibition would provide platform for the mango growers as well as experts to exchange views on how the various processes related to production and marketing would be improved.
Mango occupies an important place in the state
