State to seek French aid for wine institute

 The Maharashtra government will formally write to the French government and the Gaiesenheim Research Institute (GRI) in Germany, requesting transfer of technology in wine making and co-operation in setting up a wine institute in the state.

 The government will also request co-operation in training and marketing support for wines produced in Maharashtra.

 The state will request the French government to facilitate a tie-up with wine marketers Bordeaux Tradition.
