State to strengthen e-governance

 Gujarat Informatics Ltd (GIL), a government undertaking, on Thursday organised a day-long seminar to create awareness on the importance of e-governance.

 The seminar is held ahead of the seventh national conference on e-governance in Chennai from November 13 to 15.

 Inaugurating the seminar, chief minister Narendra Modi said while there is no dearth of sharp minds, there is a need for a focused mindset among the government employees on e-governance.

 Hewitt Associates has been chosen by the government as an industry partner, said Neeta Shah, director (e-governance), GIL.

 Hewitt Associates, which has worked with the central government, the government of Andhra Pradesh, BHEL and BPCL in implementing various e-governance projects, made a presentation at the seminar.

 Shah said leaders in the information technology had been invited for the seminar.
