States have decided to modify their draft value-added tax legislations to bring about more uniformity and also for incorporating changes suggested by the central government.
At a meeting of state finance secretaries here today, it was decided that states would finalise their legislations by the end of October, government officials said.
The committee of state finance ministers would meet tomorrow to ratify the decisions taken by secretaries, officials said.
