Consumption of steel, particularly finished products, recorded a 10 per cent domestic growth at 4.4 million tonne during April and May 2002-03 against 4.03 million tonne in the corresponding months in the previous fiscal. This apart, there has been an increase in production by 6 per cent during April-May this year compared to the same period last fiscal.
