With prices of some grades of iron ore and iron ore fines in the state, as reported by the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), found to be lower than the all-India average rate, the state steel & mines department has called for scrutiny on the matter by cross checking prices.

Manoj Ahuja, secretary (steel & mines) has asked the director of mines to examine as to why the prices being reported in some cases are lower than the all-India prices. The director (mines) has been asked to scrutinize the prices of lessees on the basis of which IBM calculated the sale price.
