Reaffirming the government’s sincerity to block tax havens and bring back unaccounted money to India, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today informed the Lok Sabha: “Twenty countries and jurisdictions have been prioritised for entering into agreements regarding the exchange of information and assistance in the collection of taxes. Negotiations have been completed with the Bahamas and Bermuda, and steps are being taken for signing the agreements.”
Participating in the debate on the President’s speech, PM said the government had been able to move further in the matter.
