Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) has tied up with MSSRF to upgrade 30 NSOU study centres to rural knowledge centres. |
The study centres would be provided with information on health, education, weather, agriculture through radio, internet and cable TV. |
In a parallel development, the state IT department has finalised plan to implement West Bengal State Wide Area Network (WBSWAN) in Burdwan, the largest and most prosperous of the state's districts. |
G D Gautama, principal secretary (IT), said Rs 12 crore would be spent in reaching internet to all villages of the district. |
