The Orissa government has extended the deadline for presentation of bills to the treasuries pertaining to the Twelfth Finance Commission (TFC) recommended grants.

The last date has been extended to 26th February 2010 from 10th February stipulated earlier.

Various administrative departments were required to submit utilisation certificates (UCs) completion certificates (CCs) for the budgetary allocations for 2009-10 relating to TFC recommended grants by 28th February this year.

This was expected to enable the state government to submit the UCs and CCs to the Centre. For adhering to this time schedule, the finance department had issued a circular on 11th January, asking all the departments to complete the formalities of sanction, release and drawal of funds sufficiently before.

They were also requested to submit bills relating to TFC grant to the treasuries by 10th February.

However, the finance department has been receiving the treasury bills even after the deadline.

So keeping in view the difficulties faced by some departments on this count, the last date for submission of treasury bills pertaining to TFC grant is extended till 26th of this month.

However, the treasuries wouldn’t receive such bills after this deadline, according to a circular issued by the finance department.
