Kishore Bonde (30), an unemployed youth from Ghatkopar, slashed his wrist outside Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's office at Mantralya on Tuesday.

This is second such incident within one month's time in Mantralya.

The incident took place around 3 pm on the sixth floor of Mantralya when Deshmukh was seeing various ordinary citizens, who had came to meet him without appointment.

Mantralya security guards immediately nabbed Bonde and handed him to the Marine Drive police, who have formally arrested him and registered an attempt to commit suicide case against him.

Bonde, who has failed to clear his HSC examination, was reportedly trying to get a government job as driver for last several years.

The incident has caused major embarrassment to the Deshmukh government on the eve of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to the city on Wednesday to lay the foundation stone of Mumbai metro railway project.
