Surat to host national CAs' conference

The Surat branch of the Western India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is organising an All India Conference of Chartered Accountants on 'Auditing & Corporate Laws' on January 8 and 9 at Gandhi Smruti Bhavan in Surat.
 
The theme of the conference is 'Accomplishment through Excellence'.
 
Surat branch chairman Rajesh Jain said: "This All India conference will be the first ever event of it's kind in the history of the Surat branch. More than 900 delegates from all over India are expected to participate in the conference."
 
The conference will be inaugurated by R P Garg, vice president, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Ahmedabad. Vinay Rai, managing director, Kribhco will be the guest of honour.
 
"Eight papers, including one each on special economic zones - government policy and taxation; networking, mergers and brand of CA firms; service tax - new services, controversial issues emerging from service tax; input credit rules; BPO - emerging opportunities for CAs; overview of auditing and assurance standards; controversial tax issues emerging from accounting standards; and recent important income tax judicial discussions; will be presented during the conference by some of the most prominent chartered accountants of the country, who will also share their views on emerging issues of the profession," he added.
