Surjeet is also understood to have called on the Prime Minister yesterday to discuss the steps needed to be taken to ensure that the steering committee functions more efficiently. The letter assumes significance coming as it does on the eve of a crucial meeting of the steering committee on November eight. Sources said Surjeets letter emphasised the need for more consultation among the constituents on major issues.
