Tanvir's demise an irreparable loss: Jakhar

Madhya Pradesh Governor Dr Balram Jakhar and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have expressed deep sorrow at the demise of noted theatre personality Habib Tanvir, who passed away here yesterday after prolonged illness.

In his condolence message, the Governor described the death of Habib as an irreparable loss to the world of literature, art and culture.

The Chief Minister said that through his devotion to art, Habib had brought glory and fame to Madhya Pradesh.

Describing him as an untiring path breaker in the field of theatre, Chouhan said Habib had adorned the stage with folk arts, especially Chhattisgarhi Nacha style.

His demise is an irreparable loss for the world of art and culture, Chouhan said.

Jakhar and Chouhan also expressed grief over the demise of three Hindi poets who were killed in a road accident here yesterday after returning from a 'Kavi Sammelan' organised in Vidisha on the occasion of Betwa Utsav.
