The government is expected to come out with a tariff policy for central public sector power utilities over next few months wherein it will spell out broad guidelines for tariff setting. The policy will also set out priorities for achieving the objectives of providing affordable power to consumers and ensure fair returns to generators, transmitters and distributors of power, power ministry officials said.
