Tcs Working With R K Mission On Adult Literacy Package For Bengal

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is planning to launch its adult programme in West Bengal.

The spokesperson of TCS said, the computer-based functional literacy (CBFL) programme was being piloted at Narendrapur with the help of Rama Krishna Mission Institute and on completion, the company would approach the state government for help to roll it out.

The programme has been developed by TCS. It operated under the aegis of the Tata Council for Community Initiatives. The CBFL project used a mix of methods to teach an uneducated person to read in a fraction of the time it would takes to do so by conventional means.

 

It would teach a person to read within a span of 30 to 45 hours spread over 10 to 12 weeks.
