“Expansion of retail market is a part of the development process of cities and towns, and shopping malls are one of the development indicators as they are gradually dotting many towns and cities in Telangana,” Rao told them.
The government would hold a joint meeting with retail players, officers of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, town planning and labour department and the real estate developers to prepare a policy for the retail market policy, according to the chief minister’s office.
The retail company representatives have made several requests including single license policy, allowing the retail outlets to work 365 days in a year, allowing women employees to work in the night shifts among other things, it said.
